Rencontre. Music meets Brassaï
On Friday 11 April 2025, on the occasion of the Brassaï. The eye of Paris exhibition, the Museo Civico di Bassano del Grappa is pleased to present the finissage event Rencontre. Music meets Brassaï.

This is a musical performance inspired by Brassaï’s photography and the music of Django Reinhardt, legendary French-Belgian gypsy guitarist, pioneer of jazz in Europe and undisputed star of the Paris music scene in the 1930s and 1940s.

His music, vibrant with passion and invention, will blend perfectly with the powerful shots by the photographer who captured the magic of the French capital, from its Bohemian nightlife to the light and shade of the city, giving rise to a fascinating dialogue between sound and image.

The musical performance will evoke hot jazz, swing and valse musette sounds presented by a quartet featuring Massimiliano Sartori on solo guitar, Enzo Moretto on accordion and Dave Kelbie and Carlo Stupiggia on rhythm guitars.

The performance will be presented twice, at 7 pm and 8.30 pm, in the Sala Chilesotti at the Museo Civico, especially opened in the evening for the occasion.
