Given the great success of “Christmas in Bassano 2025”, which transformed the historical centre into a veritable Christmas village, the Torre Civica of Bassano del Grappa will have extra opening hours for the public.

This is a unique opportunity to discover or rediscover the monument that best symbolises the mediaeval history of Bassano del Grappa. More than 40 meters tall, it towers above thehistorical centre, providing a matchless view of the surrounding landscape in its Christmas setting.

Attested as early as 1349 but, according to tradition, founded by Ezzelino da Romano around the mid-1200s for defensive and military purposes, the Tower actually fulfilled a predominantly civilian function: the ringing of its bells regulated every aspect of public life, from the market to the guard shift change, as well as signaling sudden dangers. In the eighteenth century the tower was equipped with the characteristic clock, while the battlements, which give it a profile so closely linked to medieval imagery, actually date back to a restoration carried out in the first half of the nineteenth century.

Access to the Torre Civica will only be possible by booking one of the four unmissable guided tours which will take place:

→ Friday 26 December 2025, at 4 pm
→ Wednesday 31 December 2025, at 4 pm
→ Sunday 4 January 2026, at 4 pm
→ Tuesday 6 January 2026, at 4 pm

On the guided tour, adults and children will be given a presentation of the history behind the monument. The itinerary also includes the opportunity to enjoy, from on high, the incredible view of the city lit up for the holidays, but also to learn more about the history of Bassano del Grappa and its symbolic monuments.

On the day of the tour, visitors must arrive at the I.A.T. in Bassano del Grappa no later than 3:30 pm to complete payment and meet their guide, who will immediately introduce them to the incredible stories behind this iconic monument, steeped in a more beautiful Christmas atmosphere than ever before.
