The 2026 Universal Civil Service call for applications is now officially open for the selection of volunteers for the cultural sector of the City of Bassano del Grappa.

Civil service is an experience of social commitment and active citizenship with a strong educational value, combining ethical values and ideals with concrete training opportunities, thus representing a unique opportunity for civic, personal and professional growth. Young people between the ages of 18 and 28 (up to 28 years and 364 days old on the date of application) who are Italian citizens, citizens of the European Union or non-EU countries, provided they are legally resident in Italy, are eligible to apply. 

The Civil Service lasts 12 months, with a commitment of 25 hours per week, and provides a monthly allowance of €507.30.

Thanks to the Civil Service, volunteers will have the opportunity to get to know the behind-the-scenes workings of a cultural institution, working side by side with the MBA and Operaestate staff and participating in the numerous activities of the Musei, Biblioteca and  Archivio of Bassano del Grappa and Operaestate.

→ At the Musei Civici, the project “Farsi in quattro per l'arte: cura e conservazione del Museo Civico di Bassano del Grappa” offers 4 positions dedicated to the promotion, communication, conservation and cataloguing of museum collections and support in the creation of temporary exhibitions.

→ At the Biblioteca Civica and Archivio Storico, the project “Biblioteca e Archivio: SCU al servizio della Comunità” offers 10 positions (8 in the library, 2 in the archives) dedicated to:

• for the library: activities to promote reading, support in lending and promoting services, cataloguing and putting the library's collection online, promoting the collection and organising exhibitions, producing social media content;
• for the archive: tasks related to the conservation and promotion of the documentary heritage and its use, both for administrative research purposes (right of access) and for historical and cultural research.

→ At Operaestate, the project "Operaestate Festival: Le arti dello spettacolo creano comunità" offers 4 positions dedicated to activities related to the organisation, communication and promotion of the festival; relations with artists, companies and the public (reception, logistical support, interpreting); relations with festival partners, in particular the Città Palcoscenico municipalities and city districts; scheduling, organisation and logistical support for the Progetto Dance Well for Parkinson's classes and the organisation of workshops and rehearsals for the sharing of new productions.

The Civil Service lasts 12 months, with a working week of 25 hours.
The monthly allowance for performing the service is €507.30.

The deadline for submitting applications is 2:00 p.m. on 8 April 2026.
